Are my fees refundable?

Lesson fees, Term Accounts and Gift Vouchers are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Can I bring a friend into my lesson?

To avoid distraction, parents and guests are not to sit in on lessons unless a valid reason is given.  Parents and guests will have the opportunity to attend Concert Rehearsals, watch you perform in the Studio Concerts and other public performances.

Can I do Work Experience at OVS?

Yes.  Students wanting to complete their Work Experience with Ofelia’s Voice Studio are more than welcome to apply.  OVS has accommodated Work Experience students in the past.

Can I learn an instrument in my lessons?

Yes.  Beginner Piano is offered to vocal students.  It is a requirement that all students who attend OVS learn how to read music.  Students are encouraged to learn how to play a melodic instrument such as the piano or guitar.

Do I have to perform in the OVS Concerts?

Yes.  OVS Concerts are an important extension to the studio lessons. Participation is part of Enrollment and included in your Term Fees.

Do I need to be able to read music?

No, but it is a requirement that all students who attend OVS learn how to read music.  Reading music is an important skill for a musician to possess and is included in lessons.  Songs are learnt from sheet music and all students are required to work on Graded Music Theory.

How many lessons can I cancel per term?

You are entitled to two make-up lessons per term.  As long as you give 24 hours notice of cancellation for both lessons, you will not forfeit those lessons. When you have accrued two make-up lessons due to your own cancellation, all additional cancelled lessons will be instantly forfeited. Make-up lessons must be completed within the term and only one make-up lesson per missed lesson is permitted.  Lessons missed due to Ofelia’s absence will be rescheduled and are not classed as a make-up lesson.
